When you access this website, the hosting provider processes technical connection data, including your IP address, request time, requested file, browser information and response status. This processing enables delivery, stability and security of the website. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log data is retained only as long as needed to operate the website and investigate security incidents, subject to statutory retention requirements.

3. Contact form and email

When you contact me, I process your name, email address, message and optional subject to respond to your enquiry. The contact form sends these details by email to mail@svenpetersen.net. The website does not create a database of contact enquiries. Your name, email address and message are required to process your enquiry; the form cannot be submitted without them.

For contract-related enquiries, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other enquiries are processed under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on my legitimate interest in responding to your message. Contact information is deleted once the enquiry has been resolved and no statutory retention requirements apply.

4. Protecting the contact form

To protect against automated abuse, the form includes a hidden check field and a submission limit. The server stores a hash of the IP address with timestamps in a temporary file. The limit considers only the preceding 15 minutes; expired entries are removed the next time the form is processed. Message contents are not stored in this file. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in keeping the contact form secure and available.

5. Hosting and email services

Hosting and email service providers may have access to the data needed to operate their respective services. Data is otherwise disclosed only at your request or where required by law.

6. Local resources and external links

The Baloo 2 font is loaded locally from this website. No connections to Google Fonts are made. Images, styles and JavaScript are also loaded from this website. The website does not use analytics or advertising services, cookies or browser storage. Links to Touchly and Yacht Docking lead to separate websites; their privacy information applies when you open them.

7. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing relies on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. Any consent you have given may be withdrawn with effect for the future. You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the country where you live or work, or where a suspected infringement occurred. In Schleswig-Holstein, this is the Independent Centre for Data Protection Schleswig-Holstein.
